The Islamic Center of Daytona Beach has a rich and diverse history that spans well over 30 years. As the first Masjid to accommodate a central location for Muslim activities in Volusia County, the ICDB flowered from the hearts of Muslims from various backgrounds including Arab, Asian, African-American, and so many others. The original Masjid, received funding in the mid-1980s to be built at the 347 South Keech Street location in Daytona Beach, FL. It was officially founded in 1986 with the help of Allah (subhanahu wa taala) and the local community and students. This original location was built from the intention to create not just as a place of worship but a space where bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood would be formed, diversity is celebrated and kindness prevailed.
