What began in 1993 as an effort by Muslim women to help Muslim women in Central Ohio is now a dynamic formal organization providing comprehensive services and compassionate support in a confidential setting. It all began when one woman recognized the difficulties and challenges others faced in the community when seeking assistance. She installed a phoneline in her home creating confidential and comforting access to resources for those in need. As other women in the Muslim community joined her effort, the organization realized a permanent and integral role as the social service agency addressing issues facing women and families through an Islamic framework. By 2002, Muslim Family Services of Ohio had acquired it’s 501(c)3 status as a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation. Our mission is to empower families to lead self-sufficient and self-fulfilling lives through professional services individualized to meet the varied needs of those that we serve.
