We aim to serve Yusuf Mosque by exemplifying the Prophetic model of the Masjid, which serves as a sacred place of worship and a hub for community development. We hold our imams and scholars in high esteem as custodians of Islamic knowledge and rely on their guidance for matters of Aqeedah (creed) and Fiqh (jurisprudence). Our focus is on promoting Islamic morals and character in a compassionate and non-coercive manner, emphasizing teaching, reminding, and encouraging, rather than compelling or judging. We identify as Muslims without emphasizing any specific ethnic, racial, color, or tribal distinctions, cherishing the diversity within our community and rejecting exclusionary practices. Our facilities and activities are open and welcoming to women, minorities, and individuals of all faiths. The leaders of our center consider themselves custodians and servants of Yusuf Mosque, warmly welcoming and honoring all who enter as His guests. Both men and women are equally encouraged to participate in center activities, and they share equal responsibility for their contributions. We strive to provide ample prayer space for women, including areas in the main Musalla without barriers, as well as private spaces for prayer and reflection. Women actively participate in the central decision-making process of the center. Our primary objective is to assist our members and community in practicing the best Islamic conduct and fostering a strong American Muslim identity. We embrace elements of our nation’s culture that align with Islamic values and refrain from engaging in those that conflict with them. We are committed to engaging constructively in religious, civic, economic, social, and non-political activities in our country to contribute to its overall betterment.
